JAKARTA – Badan Meterorologi, Klimatologi dan Geofisika memprakirakan gempa susulan di Bali kecil kemungkinan akan terjadi kembali.

Hal tersebut dikatakan Kepala Bidang Gempa BMKG Suharjono saat dihubungi okezone, Sabtu (15/10/2011).

“Kalau dilihat dari tren, kecil potensi terjadi gempa lagi, tapi sekalipun ada hanya gempa yang kecil-kecil dan tak terasa. Kemarin saja saat kejadian Gempa ada tujuh gempa, yang dirasakan hanya satu. Kalau gempa susulan kemungkinan frekuensinya kecil di bawah empat skala richter,” ujar Suharjono.

Suharjono meminta agar masyarakat Bali tidak mudah percaya pada kabar terkait akan adanya gempa susulan yang lebih besar.

“Yang terpenting  saat ini adalah meminta masyarakat agar tak mempercayai isu-isu yang mengatakan akan ada gempa,” katanya.

Dia menambahkan masyarakat tidak perlu khawatir, namun sebaliknya harus tetap waspada dan lebih bersiap dalam menghadapi ancaman potensi gempa.

“Bukan berarti harus ditakuti tapi menyesuaikan dengan alam, seperti misalnya membangun rumah yang disesuaikan dengan peta gempa,” tandasnya. (sus) Read More
